Beautiful Reminder

"You have stories worth telling,
memories worth remembering,
dreams worth working toward,
a body worth feeding,
a soul worth tending,
& beyond that, the God of the universe dwells within you,
the true culmination of super & natural.

You are more than dust & bones.
You are spirit & power & image of God.
& you have been given Today."

-Cold Tangerines "On Waiting", Shauna Niequist

I recently finished a book called "Bittersweet" by Shauna Niequist. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys positive reminders and solid wisdom. Shauna has a unique way of putting the raw emotions you feel into words on a page. Let me be the first to say that I would never consider myself to be a 'reader'. I was telling Leah the other day that I can't even remember the last book I actually finished. This time was different, I couldn't even put Bittersweet down, and when I finished it, I was sad. I wanted more. I immediately bought her first book, "Cold Tangerines". I just got it in the mail today, and I am so excited to dive into it.

I just finished the first chapter, titled "On Waiting", and I am already in love. I know I am hyping Shauna up a lot, but once you read her book(s), you'll completely understand where I am coming from.

The excerpt I placed above is the end of that first chapter. What a beautiful reminder. Our lives are filled with stories that are worth telling. The visions you have are important, and they are worth chasing after. The thoughts you think, the emotions you feel, those matter, too. God has created you for such a grand purpose, in all you do, chase that fully. Pursue Today.

This practically defines the tattoo that I have on my left forearm. It reads, "There, but for the grace of God, go I". It's a daily reminder that I am here for a purpose, and it is only by God's grace that I am given Today. & furthermore, if I am given another day to live on this earth, it would be such a great loss if I didn't pursue all that it had in store for me.

I hope you all know that you have a story, and it is so beautiful.
I'd love to hear them.

Keep fighting this good, beautiful, fight.
It's worth it.
